What types of event lighting does Ramar Event Productions provide?

All of it is designed, installed, operated, and struck by our own team.

Can you light a tent or a venue with no power?

Yes. We run wireless, battery-powered fixtures with full-evening runtime and wireless DMX control, which is how we light tents, fields, barns, and historic properties that have no usable electrical infrastructure. It also removes generators and cable runs from guest pathways. Where a program does need power, we handle distribution as part of the same build.

How much does event lighting cost?

Investment scales with room size, fixture count, whether the program includes chandeliers or moving lights, and whether an operator is on site for the duration. A focused uplighting package sits in a very different tier from a full design with suspended fixtures and programmed cues. We scope each event and present tiered options so you can see exactly what changes between them.

Do you install chandeliers in tents and barns?

Regularly. Tent and barn chandelier installations require a rigging survey first, because the hang has to be engineered to the actual structure rather than assumed. We handle that survey, the rigging, the fixtures, integrated dimming, and removal. For historic properties we use non-invasive mounting that leaves no trace.

What is uplighting and how many fixtures does a room need?

Uplighting places fixtures along the perimeter of a room to wash the walls in color, which turns a flat venue into a defined space. Fixture count depends on wall length and how continuous you want the wash: a typical 150 to 200 guest ballroom usually lands between 20 and 40 fixtures. We calculate the count from your actual floor plan rather than a per-guest rule of thumb.

Can you match our exact brand or wedding colors?

Yes. Our fixtures are color-calibrated rather than set to the nearest preset, so we can hold a specific brand hex value or match a fabric swatch. For corporate programs we calibrate against your brand guidelines; for weddings we match to your palette, linens, and florals during the design phase.

Do you provide an on-site lighting operator?

For programs with scene changes, stage lighting, or moving fixtures, yes — a lighting operator runs the cues live. Simpler ambient and uplighting programs can be pre-programmed and left to run, with our crew returning for strike. We recommend the right level with your run of show in hand.

Do you offer permanent lighting installations for venues?

Yes. For venues, estates, and barns hosting events continuously, we design and install permanent systems with concealed fixtures, dimmer racks, DMX control, and preset scenes your staff can recall by name. It removes recurring rental cost and generally lets a venue command a higher per-event rate. Installation includes staff training and a maintenance program.

What regions do you cover for event lighting?

We light events from Vermont through Florida, covering New England, the New York metro area, the Hudson Valley, the Berkshires, the Mid-Atlantic, the Southeast, and Caribbean destinations. Our production facility is in Torrington, Connecticut, and we travel our own crew and inventory throughout that corridor.

How far in advance should lighting be booked?

Four to six months is comfortable for weddings and two to three months for corporate programs. Custom gobos, chandelier sourcing, and permanent installations need longer. During peak event season, dates fill well ahead, so earlier contact meaningfully improves availability.
